Who I am

Anna Writes Music is the home of composer and vocalist Anna Wawrzyniak, who creates quiet, piano-led music for reflection, focus, and stillness.

I’m based in the UK and graduated from the London Centre of Contemporary Music (Middlesex University) with a degree in Music Performance & Production, specialising in Audio-Visual Synchronisation – composition and production for film and visual media. I also studied jazz and popular music vocals at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, Poland, an experience that continues to shape my relationship with voice, phrasing, and musical expression.

I compose slowly and intuitively, allowing pieces to unfold naturally rather than forcing them into form. My work sits between contemporary piano and ambient music, shaped by simplicity, repetition, and a sense of openness. The music is intended to accompany moments of calm – early mornings, late evenings, creative work, reading, walking, or quiet time alone.

I’m interested in music as atmosphere rather than performance: something that supports presence without demanding attention. Each piece is designed to feel gentle, spacious, and emotionally neutral enough to meet the listener wherever they are.

Alongside the piano, I also work with voice – sometimes melodic, sometimes wordless – using it as another layer of texture, breath, and emotional colour. More broadly, I explore the relationship between sound, emotion, and imagery, creating music that feels minimal, contemplative, and quietly expressive.
